Break beat, drum + bass and trance combined with Sandrine’s powerful vocals and a pop sensibility make SEIZE a must listen to artist. SEIZE, formed in 1995 by Sandrine Gouriou and later joined by Steven Young in 97 released their first single "Blades" in 99 quickly followed by the club hit "Victim". Their first album "Lunacy" was released in 2000 to critical acclaim, and is a dark brooding masterpiece combining breaks with trip hop and lush strings with Sandrine’s amazing vocal dexterity. Comparisons with Portishead, Massive Attack and more recently Kosheen are obvious but the members of SEIZE feel they have their own sound. 2002 saw the band’s number grow again when Rosie Harris joined and added her skills to the live sound and performance.
The new SEIZE material is more mature, up tempo and club orientated than the first album while staying true to their roots. Musically rich with lush synths, top rate production and Sandrine’s vocal talent, SEIZE surely are one of the most promising new discoveries in Britain.
The long awaited second album ‘The Other Side of Your Mind’ was released through Alfa Matrix in November 2003 and made its way to number 8 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC).
