I don't normally update the journal very often but what the hell...

The weekend was spent rehearsing, remixing and getting drunk. With De/Vision, Iris and VNV to name a few...
http://www.sama.mu/
Only our second gig with Sean the drummer. Hence the feaverish rehearsals all day on Saturday...
We will be rehearsing again this saturday in Brizzol...

Hopefully soon we can confirm a rare London gig coming up (we seem to play more in Europe than at home)
Will announce once its confirmed..

Sunday was spent locked in the studio all day finishing the Trauma Pet remix.
We remixed 'Controlled Hysteria', and its damn good if I do say so myself... :-)
They wanted a 'dance mix' - Boy did they get it ha ha

That will be the last remix for a while, as we really want to concentrate on new SEIZE tracks for the next album...

Thats all really..

see ya

    <lj:music>COLDPLAY - Warning Sign</lj:music>

So technically, everything that could go wrong, went wrong!

Minidisc messed up in the first song, one of Steven's keyboards died in the second song, which meant a load of lead lines were missing from the following 10 songs and just before we went onstage, the sound engineer neglected to tell us that there was some massive distortion coming from the mixing desk and through Sean's headphones, so he couldn't hear the backing/click track. That resulted in him being "off" on a few songs.

Complete nightmare.

So frustrating, because we have been so tight in rehearsals and even in the soundcheck, we did 4/5 songs and they were all perfect.

Apparently it didn't sound as bad FOH as it did to us onstage and the crowd were really great - weirdly, they loved it! Afterwards, there were a whole group of kids (you can see in the picture below that I really mean kids ;)) came to the back door of the venue asking for photos and autographs!

So despite all the problems, it was still a good gig. We were lucky that the crowd were so forgiving!

The sound engineer seemed a bit embarrassed afterwards - he told Sean that he'd had some problems he couldn't fix...

Onwards and upwards! You win some, you lose some!

Sandrine and the kids!

A big thank you to Bart and the Je m'en fish crew for looking after us so well and having us play and Jan from Diskonnekted who travelled a long way to see us! :D

Bit of SEIZE news...

We have our first gig of the year on Friday in Hoogstraten, near Antwerp in Belgium. Our first gig with Sean, the new drummer.
I'm very nervous about it actually, and we have been furiously rehearsing all weekend much to the annoyance of my neighbours I'm sure. A full on acoustic drum kit being bashed for 6 hours is bound to upset you a tad !
We will be airing a brand new song as well... so no pressure !

Other gig news:
Playing in Holland in March sometime (can't remember where or when)
Back again to Belgium to support Front 242 in Brussels on 3rd March
And we are also playing SAMA with IRIS and DeVision in April, so thats exciting!! :-)

No UK gigs this year so far !!

Apart from that, we have 4 songs nearly finished for the next album - working on the next 8 !!

Cheers

I don't normally update the journal basically because i can't be arsed most of the time, and the fact that i am very shy... ;-) oh yeah, and Rosie is the internet guru of the band, so i leave it to her normally !

But the last time any SEIZE update went on here was July, so i thought i would tell you what we are doing.....if you are interested ? If not - move along !

Here goes.....

We have no gigs for the rest of this year, but have a couple of things in the pipeline for January/February 2006 in Belgium and Holland. More details nearer the time.

We have started work on the as yet to be named 3rd album, and have pretty much finished 2 tracks. They are sounding a bit darker and slower, sounding like a mixture of the first 2 albums, and Sandrine is singing very well ! Lets hope we can get another 10 tracks completed by Spring next year...

The plan is to go on tour to promote the album next year supporting a biggish name......tentative plans ! ;-)

This Saturday we have our first rehearsal with our new drummer Sean. He is a very good breakbeat drummer so we are all really excited to be working with him. It will give an added extra element to the live performance..

And thats it SEIZE wise really..

And finally - Don't forget to buy the OVNI album out now on Alfa Matrix ;-)

WGT was fantastic as always and we'd like thank everyone who came to watch us, even though we clashed with the Human League!!
We'd also like to say a huge thank you to Jan Winterfeld and Wiebcke Hofschild for looking after us and Ross (robotochan) and Alex for being fantastic roadies ;)

For those who are interested, the set list was:

The Other Side
Don't Let Me
Insanity
Lost In Space
Because of Me
Wishful Thinking
Unbreakable

In other news, we recently completed a remix of the mind.in.a.box track "Certainty", which appears on the recently released single of the same name. We are also happy to report that the single is currently at number 7 on the German Alternative Charts (DAC)!

The next few months are probably going to be a bit on the quiet side where Seize gigs are concerned, as we are in the process of writing the third album. We'll keep you posted :)

Thanks for reading,
Rosie

    <lj:music>SILENT ALARM - A Fire Inside</lj:music>

As most of you are probably aware now, Steve Strange has recruited the three of us as the new members of Visage mark II, along with Ross from Goteki!
It's been a bit manic the past few months, so apologies for the lack of updates on the Seize front, but to be honest it's been pretty quiet on that side of things.

However, we do have a gig coming up this week (April 9th) with the fantastic Seabound and Pride and Fall.

We are also confirmed to play the Wave Gotik Treffen festival in Leipzig, Germany. We will be playing the "Parkschlosschen" Stage on May 15th at 23:30.
The line up for our particular stage is:

IAMX
CLIENT
SEIZE
MILU
DISTORTED REALITY

Thanks for reading. That's all for now!!
Rosie x

Hello everyone. Welcome to our new journal! Now that we are no longer listed as being born in 1997, we can actually update you on what's going on in the world of Seize again! But not now, I'm tired ;)
